8 Days Kenya and Tanzania Safari

This 8 days Kenya and Tanzania luxury safari will make you discover the best wildlife experience in East Africa. From viewing the Big 5 animals of Africa to witnessing the wildebeest migration in Serengeti NP of Tanzania and Maasai Mara NP of Kenya.

Day 01. Drive from Nairobi to Arusha

After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi. You will be picked by African Paradise Safaris Guide. You will be picked and depart to Namanga (the border between Kenya and Tanzania) Do the travel formalities. Exchange the vehicle. Depart to Kilimanjaro. You will enter Kilimanjaro where you will not climb since you only have a day. View the scenic of the mountain and its peaks.  Depart to Arusha for leisure preparing for next day safari. Overnight at Kibo slope hotel (BB)

Day 02. Arusha – Lake Manyara

From Arusha and travelling west to Lake Manyara National park where you will arrive exactly during time for some sort of delicious lunch meal from a lodge or picnic lunch at the Park gate.

This alkaline lake is very large, taking up 60 % on the park and even captures substantial flocks of flamingoes and also other water birds. From the entrance gate, the road winds through an expanse of lush jungle-like groundwater forest where hundred-strong baboon troops lounge nonchalantly along the roadside, blue monkeys scamper nimbly between the ancient mahogany trees, dainty bushbuck tread warily through the shadows, and outsized forest hornbills honk cacophonously in the high canopy.

The park at the same time boasts of its tree climbing lions, a leading Tanzania safari attraction among some other animals like zebras, giraffes, buffalos and a few herds of elephants. There is overnight accommodation in and around the park where dining and also lodging meet your standards. Meals and overnight at Lake Manyara camp (full board)

Day 03. Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Breakfast from the camp, travel to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There are plenty of attractions to stop by along the way including a Masai Village and the famous site from Olduvai Gorge, for Dr. Leakey’s discovering about the history of early man dating back to millions of years ago.

Predators are an additional attraction, from the park as they wait to grab and tear the young and also frail prey which they come across. These include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and leopards. The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest un flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), measuring 8,300 square kilometers, is also the only place on earth where mankind and wild animals co-exist in harmony. The NCA became a Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1971 and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. Meals and overnight at Tloma lodge (full board).

Day 04. Ngorongoro crater and then Transfer to Serengeti NP

After breakfast you will drive to the crater tour, your expert guide will take you in search of big game, and the relaxed animals allow you to get up close for great photos. This is one of Tanzania’s top parks for sheer wildlife numbers and you are likely to see most of the big five, with lion, buffalo and elephant being almost certain, rhino relatively likely, and leopard a little more elusive. You are also likely to see great numbers of zebra and wildebeest, as well as spotted hyena of which there are many on the Crater floor.  Later depart to Serengeti National Park.  Arrive evening, have an enroute game drive going to your Camp. Meals and overnight at Serengeti Kati Kati camp (full board).

Day 05. Full day at Serengeti National Park

You will have a full day game drive at Serengeti National park with picnic lunch.

A million wildebeest… each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.   Meals and overnight at Ikoma tented camp (full board)

Day 06. Drive to Isibania, then to Maasai Mara National reserve

After Your breakfast. You will depart to Isibania (border of Kenya and Tanzania) do travel formalities. Drive to Maasai Mara., you will arrive in time for late lunch.

An exploratory drive around the 1,792 sq. km game park with its low hills and savannah type rolling grasslands, gallery forest on the Mara River and its tributaries. Get introduced to the herbivores; elephant, rhino, buffalo, and the variety of antelopes, the Masai giraffe and the Burchell zebra. The carnivores are the black mane lion, cheetah and leopard. Also to be seen are the largest bird, the Masai ostrich, the Secretary bird, the crested crane and saddle-bill stork. Crocodiles and hippos share the river. Return to your lodge by sunset Meals and overnight at Enchoro wildlife camp (full board).

Day 07. Full day at Maasai Mara National reserve

Optional Early Morning balloon safari rides (US$450.00 per person) across the Maasai Mara plain. Breakfast at the lodge then enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Masai Mara is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Game abounds here; The Mara is noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black manned males. See the great Migraton where over 1.5 million wildebeest and other antelopes crossing the mighty Mara River. Experience the battle between survival and hunger. You are also likely to see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if   you’re lucky leopard, cheetah and rhino. All of the Big Five are residents.  You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, stock up on film/tapes and enjoy yourselves!   In the evening visit Maasai village. Meals and overnight at Enchoro wildlife camp (full board)

Day 08.Drive back to Nairobi

You will have early breakfast, enroute breakfast. Depart to Nairobi, where you will arrive in late afternoon, where you will be taken to your hotel or at the airport and this will mark the end of your 8 Days Kenya and Tanzania Safari.
