Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Our Driver Guide meets you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and welcomes you to Kenya, “the heart of Africa.” You will be given a welcome bag, and he will assist you in transferring your baggage to the waiting bus, which will take you to The Emakoko Lodge for the night, which is about a thirty-minute drive from Nairobi.

Day 2: Travel to Maasai Mara by road.

Breakfast is served very early today, then check out and depart for Maasai Mara. It is well worth the effort to escape Nairobi’s traffic jams around peak hour. It will take about 5 hours to drive from Nairobi to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley. Check in at the cabin and then return to the restaurant for a hot lunch. Later, join your naturalist driver guides for a sunset game drive in your safari vans.

Remark: Please order your dinner ahead of time before beginning your evening game trip. Families with children are welcome to ask the chef to pack a light snack to keep on board the bus.

Accommodation: Tangulia Mara Camp (mid-range)

Day 3: Masai Mara game drives all day.

The Maasai Mara is known for its peaceful and insightful game drives, with the main draw being witnessing the wildebeest migration. You’ll also have the chance to see herds of Zebras, Impalas, Elands, Reedbucks, Black Rhinos, African Elephants, Maasai Giraffes, and many species of Gazelles, which live in the Mara’s short-grass plains and acacia forests. Cheetahs, Leopards, Spotted Hyenas, Black-backed jackals, Bat-eared foxes, Caracals, and some of the world’s largest Lion densities can all be found in this huge concentration of game. Continue driving back to the cabin while watching the sunset. About 19h30, a delightful lodge-prepared three-course dinner is served.

Accommodation: Tangulia Mara Camp (mid-range)

Day 4: Continue to Naivasha Lake.

Your day 4 of 11 Day Luxury Kenya and Uganda Gorilla Safari Tour will begin with a quick breakfast after which you will check out the hotel and continue your journey to Lake Naivasha National Park. This part of your trip will take about 4 hours and will take you across the rift valley, one of Africa’s great epics. Arrive in plenty of time for a hot lunch and to sign in.

After lunch, take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha for a water safari. Our knowledgeable staff will give a lecture on the fauna and flora that surrounds the lake.

Accommodation: Sopa Resort (mid-range)

Day 5: Travel to Amboseli National Park by route.

After breakfast, you will be driven to Amboseli National Park, which will take about six to six and a half hours. Seat back and enjoy the drive through rural Kenya, which includes a game en route to your host property, with a packed lunch on hand.

It’s plain to see why Amboseli National Park is considered one of Africa’s best national parks. Hundreds of big-tusked African Elephants, a plethora of birds, and the best views of Kilimanjaro in Africa are just a few of the attractions.

Proceed to Kibo Safari Camp on your game trip. Kibo Safari Camp, like Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge, has traditional thatched canvas tents with en suite bathrooms, completing your camp’s ideal mix of ancient history, nature, and modern convenience.

Accommodation: Kibo Safari Camp (mid-range)

Day 6: Game drives all day

Set out on a game drive in Amboseli National Park early in the morning in open roof 4×4 vehicles. The Amboseli National Park, which is crowned by Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most prominent national parks. It is one of the best areas in Africa to see huge herds of elephants up close. The term “Amboseli” derives from a Maasai word that means “salty dust.” The dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with Sulphur springs, the savannah, and woodlands are among the five landscapes available to visitors.

A large dining room, two plush seating areas with large sofas, and a sun deck are all available at Kibo Safari Camp. In the evenings, an open-air boma with a campfire is suitable for socializing, while the splash pool is ideal for cooling off in the summer. The waterhole is illuminated at night, allowing camp guests to observe nature from the safety of their accommodations. Learn more about the fauna and flora of the area by researching the day’s sightings in the reference library.

Accommodation: Kibo Safari Camp (mid-range)

Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe/ Uganda

Check out of Amboseli and fly back to Nairobi for your onward flight to Entebbe, Uganda. You will be picked up and transported to the Lake Victoria Serena Resort, where you will check-in and settle in for the night. During your dinner, our lead guide and representative will meet you and brief you about your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 8: Travel to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After breakfast, check out and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by route. This area of rural Uganda in the south has a large number of visitors. Dian Fossey, for example, referred to it as her “second home.” You’ll stop in Mbarara for lunch and a cup of hot coffee before continuing on to Kabale or Kisoro Town. When you arrive in Bwindi, check into the Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, eat dinner, and retire for the evening.

Day 9: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi

Your trip through the gorilla sanctuary begins after an early morning meal. There are only around 900 of these magnificent animals left on the planet. You’ll need to arrive by 8 a.m. for registration and a briefing on the trek’s rules. To track the gorillas, the guides will lead you through the jungle, forcing your way through the undergrowth and parting dense creepers. The hike can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 7 hours, and it requires a decent level of fitness as well as a comfortable pair of walking shoes. These incredible apes are quiet, but if you get close to them, the guides will ask you to leave your bags behind because no food can be brought near the apes. When you see and photograph these magnificent animals, you will share the experience through your camera lenses. After this, you’ll go to Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing and romantic boat trip as you wait for dinner and to spend the night.

Day 10: Bwindi to Entebbe bush flight

Before checking out and transferring to Kisoro Airstrip for your bush flight to Entebbe Airport, you will be served hot drinks. You will be taken to the hotel/resort for breakfast and lunch when you arrive. Unless you have a pressing need to return to your room, a visit to the Uganda Wildlife Center is another worthwhile excursion. Although the center is sometimes used as a zoo, it is also a world-class animal refugee that has benefited from foreign help. The majority of the animals had been wounded previously or had been rescued from poachers and smugglers. White rhinos, lions, leopards, and the rare shoebill stork are among the top attractions. A sunset cruise on Lake Victoria and a farewell dinner at the resort will accompany this trip. You’ll retire for the night after dinner.

If you want to travel to Kampala by route, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast before setting off on an 8-hour journey to the Igongo recreation center, where you will enjoy a wonderful cultural breakfast before continuing on to Kampala via the Uganda equator, where you will take unforgettable images with parts of your body in the northern hemisphere and the other in the southern hemisphere. Retire and travel to Kampala, arriving about 18:00pm, where you can check into your lodge for dinner, rest, and an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Lake Victoria Serena Golf Course – Entebbe (luxury-range) or Kampala Serena Hotels (luxury)
Both meals are included, as are all beverages (except spirits/liquor).
